Noise Reducing Properties of Rubber
- The fight against noise pollution has two aspects, the reduction of noise generation and the reduction of noise spreading. the most obvious on is the reduction of noise generation and rubber is very efficient for this purpose.
- Rubber can absorb energy because it has high inner losses when exposed to dynamic strains. This means that the sound radiation from the rubber surface decreases considerably.
This diagram indicates that the greatest reduction of noise for the rubber-lined steel plates is gained within the frequency above 500Hz.
