Multi-Stage Samplers
Multotec Process Equipment (Pty) Ltd, previously Multotec Cyclones (Pty) Ltd, was established in 1978. Since 1987 it has manufactured and supplied sampling equipment under license to Siebtechnik GmbH in Germany.
Multotec is currently a leading provider for the design and supply of dry sampling installations in Southern Africa. Our specialists have experience in all aspects of sampling and preparation over an extensive range of mineral applications. This enables the selection of the best and most cost effective solutions to any sampling problems, large or small.
The Multotec dry sampling range of equipment consists of the following :
- Primary hammer samplers designed to suit conveyors
belts widths from 450mm to 2500mm traveling at up to 6 m/s. - Belt-end and screen-end secondary primary cross-cut samplers for discharge chute applications.
- Secondary rotating plate dividers to suit various top size of material and variable division ratios requirements.
- Turnstile dividers to suit lower material feed rates but with widely adjustable divisions ratios and up to 3 separate ports.
- Electromagnetic vibratory feeders or feeder conveyors to suit top size material, capacity and consistent feed requirements.
- Impact, rolls or jaw crushers and hammer mills for material size reduction.
- 3CR2 or 304 L stainless steel, HDPE and VRN lined steel sample chutework and containers.
- Sample feed and/or rejects handling systems, e.g. bucket elevators, skip hoists or mini conveyors.
- Complete turnkey sample stations for run-of-mine (ROM) or product materials in all mining and material and mineral industries and applications.
This sampling equipment incorporates all the processes and design knowledge gained during Multotec's and Siebtechnik's long involvement within the area of dry sampling to provide customised plants on a guarantee basis.
Electrical Control
- All electrical control
specifications vary between plants, their processes and type of projects. - PLC and/or relay/timer controls available and housed in floor or wall mounted control boxes or a motor control centre (MCC).
- Mimic or graphic displays are optional with the central plant SCADA interfacing capability.
- Enclosures available in all IP and Nema rating for splash, water and dust proofing.
Specifications
Various ISO, ASTM, DIN, JIS and other internationally recognised standards stipulate that:
- Sampling cuts are evenly distributed over the material consignment or throughput periods to be sampled.
- Prescribed sample increment masses and numbers shall be collected.
- The sample cutter width shall be at leas 3 times the normal top size of the material to be sampled and travel at constant speed. (Minimum cutter width is 30mm).
- There is to be a minimum of disturbance to the material stream when taking the necessary full cross-cut.
- Sampling equipment and plants are to be designed to avoid contamination of sample.
- All chutework to have minimum slopes of 70° with radiused corners to eliminate build-up.
- Samples must be representative and free of any commercially significant bias.
