Vezin Sampler

This sampler is a highly sophisticated piece of equipment that has the following features:
It allows ease of access
- The cutter can be inspected and accessed via a square cover plate on the top of the housing.
- The drive is self-contained and can either be pneumatic or electric.
- The blades of the cutter or hood are easily replaceable.
It provides efficient and effective sampling
- The slot width of the cutter is 3 times the nominal particle top size of the solids with a minimum of 10mm. Vezin samplers generally have 20mm to 30mm wide radially tapering cutter gaps.
- The sampling spoon cuts the full stream of the slurry.
- Cutter speed is 0.6ms -1 or less and is consistent throughout its travel.
- Cutter cuts the stream at 90 degrees to the flow.
- Cutter can rotate continuously or be controlled by a proximity switch.
The unit limits splashing. The hood and cutter assembly are made of stainless steel. The drive units are splash and slurry protected.
Description Of The Component Of The Sampler

The Housing
This is of an all-welded construction, mild steel with vulcanized rubber or epoxy ceramic lining to ensure the long life span of the unit. The inlet and outlet flanges, are to standard specifications to allow for ease of installation. This may however, vary from client to client.
The Sampling Arm/Cutter Assembly
This is manufactured from abrasion resistant stainless steel with a low coefficient of friction, thereby ensuring no “hang-up” of material. The cutter hood, also manufactured from stainless steel, ensures that a constant slot width is maintained for long periods.
The Drive
A standard 0,37kW unit designed and used in mining plants generally, sized to be common to all our standard units from 50NB to 150NB
